Who are some of the most famous Christian fiction authors? How did you decide to write about the Amish way of life? Amish novels give me a peak into their way of lives. While difficult to keep track of—since new writers join the genre each month—the authors are mainly white evangelical women of middle age, which is also the demographic for readers of Amish romance fiction. Al Reimer published his Russian Mennonite novel, My Harp is Turned to Mourning (1985), and Armin Wiebe explored the Low German humor of his Russian Mennonite heritage in a poignant and humorous first novel, The Salvation of Yasch Siemens (1984).
