Has been previously owned by the trombonist with Jay Leno Tonight Show. In this case, the winds are all doubled (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets and 2 bassoons), and there are two each horns and trumpets. The most famous trombone song is "76 Trombones". I've never played a more even instrument� yes I am talking about a bass trumpet� and the notes just pop out of this horn with projection, core and little effort. Purchasing a used trombone can be a good option if it is purchased with some caution.

It is in very good used condition with some minor pitting on the contact points. In the 1800s, Wilhelm Wieprecht in Prussia standardized the trombone for military bands, and trombones also became a key part of English brass bands. In the mid-18th century the trombone was still used principally in church music (particularly for doubling the lower voices) and in small ensembles: it did not become a part of the orchestra until the late 18th century.

No, the trombones are not entirely necessary for a successful perfomance. The 70H has a 9.5" two piece bell flare, .562" bore slide with the "opera" tuning mechanism in the slide. Further, the spectrum of a pedal note has hardly any power at the fundamental frequency. (We show this quantitatively below in Frequency response and acoustic impedance .) What happens here is that the higher resonances (2f, 3f, 4f etc) combine to help the lips establish a nonlinear vibration at the frequency of the missing fundamental f. Truly a rare beauty with some original character. This instrument is an L series serial and was owned by the late LA studio legend Brian O'Connor and was one of his backup 8Ds. A bass trombone with a second valve in Gb is capable of playing a from a Bb0 (or even A0 with valve slides extended), up to C5 - many professionals are capable of extending the range even higher, though such demands may be taxing and/or unreliable to the player.
